Hydro Jetting in Pullman to Clear Tough Sewer Clogs

Hydro jetting is a technique that Pullman professional plumbers use to clear out sewer lines and drain lines. Like an ultra-powerful pressure washer, hydro jetting uses a stream of pressurized water to remove buildup and restore water flow.

Typically, a plumbing company will use a camera inspection to find the clog and assess the condition of the pipe before moving forward, Once the clog is located and the pipes are deemed intact enough to use jetting, the hose will be inserted, and the water will be turned on. A high-pressure blast of water will then move through the line to break up the clog and flush out the loosened build up.

With a stream of water that’s typically 1,500-4,000 PSI coming out of the nozzle, hydro jetting removes debris better than other pipe cleaning methods because it not only bores through the clog but also removes all the junk causing it. Forward jets break through clogs while rearward jets help move the hose forward and pull loosened debris away so the nozzle can continue to clean out the pipe. With a full 360-degree spraying effect, hydro jetting cleans the entire inside area of a pipe, rather than just punching through it like a sewer rodding system.

Hydro jetting is so powerful that it can be used to remove everything from grease and hair to tree roots and sediment. It offers more thorough cleaning than some other pipe cleaning methods, resulting in longer lasting effects and helping to prevent future issues.

Keep in mind that hydro jetting isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. Some pipes, like those that are old and brittle or those that have been thinned by frequent use of chemical drain cleaners, may not be strong enough to withstand the intense pressure of hydro jetting. A professional plumber will have the experience needed to determine if jetting is going to be the best way to remove a clog or whether another approach should be used. For cracked, brittle, or thin pipes, snaking or rodding may be a better approach, although those methods aren’t entirely without risk either.

Please note: hydro jetting should only be done by licensed plumbing professionals due to the possibility for physical injury, pipe damage, and/or water backing up into your home. Never try DIY hydro jetting – serious plumbing problems and bodily injury may result!
