Can My Sump Pump be Repaired?

Depending on what needs to be fixed, your broken sump pump may be able to be repaired instead of replaced. Typically, smaller plumbing parts like seals, floats, or connectors can’t be replaced on sump pumps because they’re not manufactured as standalone items. These parts typically only wear out towards the end of the usable life of the sump pump, meaning that it’s not worth replacing because the unit itself is likely to need to be replaced in the near future as well. A local plumber may have the tools and equipment needed to craft a replacement depending on the type and location of the break, but it is more likely that you’ll need a sump pump replacement. An experienced plumber can diagnose your sump pump issues and determine if there’s a way to get a replacement sump pump part or if the unit will need to be replaced. If you need a new sump pump, a local plumber can get and install a new sump pump in your basement to protect your home from flooding. If your sump pit is full of water and the sump pump is not running, don’t wait! Call an emergency plumber immediately to get it fixed. A 24-hour plumber will come out quickly and get the sump pump replaced to prevent a basement flood (or mitigate the effect of a basement flood if water is already spilling over).
