What is Hydrojet Plumbing?

Hydro jetting is a technique that licensed plumbers can use to remove sewer line blockages. Like an incredibly powerful pressure washer, a hydro jetting machine forces a highly focused stream of water into sewer pipes to break up anything that is blocking the lines. Sewer line jetting will blast out sand and sediment, kitchen grease, hair, soap scum build-up, and other debris. This method is so powerful that it can even break through tree roots that have grown into pipes. Because hydro jetting is extremely powerful, it can also be quite dangerous. This is why only experienced plumbers should ever hydro jet your pipes.

Obviously, like any other cleaning method there is some risk associated with having your pipes hydro jetted. Old pipes are more vulnerable to breaking when being cleaned out because they are more likely to be cracked, weakened, or shifted in the ground. However, hydro jetting is typically gentler on pipes than sewer rodding, which uses long metal rods to clean out pipes instead of a stream of water.

If you suspect that you have a partially or fully blocked main line, find a top-rated local plumber to come clean out your sewer lines right away before the clog gets any worse. Remember, once your line is partially blocked, it is easy for the size of a blockage to grow quickly because water that should be flowing normally is slowed down, allowing more buildup to occur.
